nick3060 asked: Well after a little more digging I suppose I also hate the obvious ones... Cersei, Joffrey, Robert Arryn, Lysa Tully, and Tywin. Melisandre gives me bad vibes too, but she is interesting.
More questions?! :D How about favorite minor characters in ASOIAF? Mine are The Hound, Strong Belwas, and Pod (he reminds me of me when I was young). Hope he doesn't die.

What happens in a nuclear reactor meltdown →
chels:
I haven’t been able to stop fretting about the nuclear disaster on hand in Japan. The NYTimes does a stellar job with this infographic describing exactly what happens when a reactor shuts down and during a meltdown.
It also puts Japan’s situation into the context of Three-Mile Island and Chernobyl. I didn’t realize that Chernobyl didn’t even have a containment vessel. No wonder it was...

Christine: oh!
speaking of podcasts
I think we should do a podcast
about ASoIaF
with our predictions and reactions to the HBO show
me: haha
Christine: I think it would be quite successful
me: how much will it cost to get cable + HBO + DVR?
Christine: oh lord
I don't know
but I think the revenue from our podcast would pay for it
me: =)
Christine: but I'm being seroius
we are knowledgeable and clever and good looking
and we would be great podcasters
me: you do know what a podcast is, right?
hahah
Christine: we would of course have a video podcast
and dress in costume
(I would be Hodor and you would be Bran)
me: lol
can that be our halloween costume
Christine: hahaha
if all goes well with this podcast, our fans will be dressing up as us for Halloween

I get really annoyed by Microsoft Word’s split screen feature, most notably the way the “Remove Split” feature works. I have yet to figure out a consistent way to get it to close the half of the screen I want it to close. It is not always the pane where the cursor is (or where it is not - it does not seem to be consistent!).

Science Fiction! Double Feature!
tapiocanaif:
So last time my double feature was built around the idea of using the double feature screening as easily exposing friends to arthouse, depressing, theater of the real films without getting banned from the movie picking committee. This week double feature is built around the same idea, but instead of strictly arthouse, now it’s insanely bad, cult, or kitsch movies that otherwise...
