Well, Life Change, really. I finally got a new job! I will be leaving the employ of the state government, and going back to the private sector (phew!). I am very excited.

So before my start date, we’re headed to the beach for a week, and I need some beach reads. I’m almost finished with White Teeth. Eternally in the middle of various film books. But I’m really looking for some exciting, action-packed sci-fi (I have the standard favorites - Ender’s Game, Neuromancer, Snow Crash, Pattern Recognition). Any suggestions?

  2. frankhowley said: The Stars My Destination by Alfred Besser. An underrated sci-fi gem from the 50’s, it’s an awesome tale of vengeance in space.
  3. wellwellwell answered: this is not at all what you’re asking for and you may have read it, but it occurs to me that you might like jonathan strange and mr. norrell
  4. aichudechu answered: I’ve heard good things about amazon.com/The-Sno… but even though I own it I haven’t read it yet.
