”This Week’s Moving Pictures of Note:
1. Cold Weather
Highlight, watched with Julie. Movie itself seems like an puffed up student film, one more lingering static shot of a portland landscape would have earned some punches. Enjoyable Mumblecore with a bit more of a plot though.
2. 44 Inch Chest
Delightful little but uncomfortably misogynistic masculine closed circle of close chummy male cockney aging gangster romp film. Highlight, not sure, love all the actors involved, perhaps if forced to pick would go with Stephen Dillane’s profane tirade and my new favorite insults: “Cunting Spunker” and “Fucking Wifefucker.”
3. Hodejegrne (Headhunters)
Double Highlight, watched with Julie and amazing fucking action thriller. Just fucking fun and continually surprising and escalating in a good way. Intricate plans and plots and constantly shifting stakes. Apparently need to be reading the author the movie adapted from.
4. In The Loop
Highlight, the entire thing, but this time, Anna Chlumsky’s mouth. Both physically and metaphorically.
Ditto. For the record, I’m the one who recommended 44-Inch Chest :) Mainly for Stephen Dillane and his neck tattoo (kidding not kidding).
