Charming, innocuous, honest. Ed Helms’ character is poked fun at, but in a loving way - as with The 40-Year Old Virgin, this film succeeds because it’s very clear that the creators love this character. I could have done with like zero winking Wire references, and I love John C. Reilly, but he was a bit too much for me here. I was surprised by Anne Heche - I don’t know that I’ve actually ever seen anything she’s been in, but I thought she was really good.
