Do I need to watch the previous films in the series before I watch this one, or will it make sense alone?

It will definitely make sense alone. I haven’t seen 1 or 2 since high…

Oh I know, I know, there’s no comparison (I mean it’s Philip Seymour Hoffman for fuck’s sake). The villain in 4 is basically forgettable BUTTTTT Jeremy Renner (see what I did there) and more Simon Pegg and Paula Patton and the fucking Burj =) I don’t know. I liked 3. I’d probably like it a lot on a re-watch. And I don’t think it has that terrible, turrrble ending that 4 does.

The ending of the fourth movie felt like Brad Bird suddenly got bored or busy with something else, and just handed the film over to somebody’s midwestern dad and told him to “resolve everything.”

hahaha! My friend said, “it seems like Tom Cruise wrote this part”. So, I’m like, it is known. Canon.

Oh while we’re on the subject, I just went to price the Mission Impossible Blu-Ray set and saw that 1 and 3 (so, the ones that matter) are streaming free for Amazon Prime members. So I will definitely be watching them again soon.
