your west side story post was great. made me really really want to watch it again.
aw, thanks!
Self-serving post aside, I am not a film writer, this is just a personal project, and I’m so happy that anyone reads anything that I barf out onto the internet.

I’ve heard good things about amazon.com/The-Sno… but even though I own it I haven’t read it yet.
Well it appears to be out of print/expensive/not on Kindle, so I probably won’t be reading it soon =( sounds interesting though.

this is not at all what you’re asking for and you may have read it, but it occurs to me that you might like jonathan strange and mr. norrell
I have read it, and I did like it! I liked it a lot, actually. I’m really open to any suggestions, I just feel like I’ve bought a few sci-fi books that ended up on some Bests lists in the past year or so, and I haven’t been able to get into any of them.

The Stars My Destination by Alfred Besser. An underrated sci-fi gem from the 50’s, it’s an awesome tale of vengeance in space.
That sounds great. Really great. Right up my alley. Bonus - cheap on kindle.
Keep em coming, guys. I plan on reading a minimum of 3-4 books.

this is on my watchlist for the exact same reason! though it sounds like i missed it. do you have a good method for keeping up with netflix comings and goings?
I don’t. I happened to see someone mention that Uncle Boonmee was going off (which I still didn’t watch, heh). On the actual website though (we only watch through xbox or our TV), I think it does show you if things are being removed, and on what date. I do try to do queue maintenance fairly often though, so I’ve managed to catch some things. I tried doing a five minute search the other day for some site with that type of list, but all I saw were people bitching about the changes with the Starz Play deal.

Invite sent! Josh would love the site too - everyone on there is a huge horror nerd (everyone but me).
I am infinitely more interesting on the internet. I am a bore IRL. The internet is made for introverts, huzzah huzzah.
I have a post about this coming up, I think.

granted, deadwood is my favorite show ever, but i hope you change your stance on mr. olyphant. i am attempting to convert everyone i know into justified viewers. its an awesome show if you can make it to the end of season 1.
I don’t know what it is about him. I think it’s partly the character, I mean he isn’t supposed to be a warm and welcoming guy. But as the protagonist? I just don’t feel a whole lot of connection to him. Also, I haven’t seen Olyphant in anything else, so I’m not sure if his woodenness is the character or his acting. So it was a very uneducated statement on my part in general =) I have heard great things about Justified. Is it like Parks and Rec where you can skip the 1st season entirely? Or is it like Deadwood where it picks up toward the end of the season?
